(0.8169)   My father was diagnosed with a benign Meningioma four years ago. He underwent brain surgery, gamma knife, radiation, chemotherapy, and clinical trial drugs. About three months ago, we found out that it turned into malignant, aggressive Meningioma. He just had two brain surgeries in the past 3 months and he is experiencing many problems. The tumors are so big they are growing out of his head. Plus, he had two blood clots in his brain, gets seizures, has memory loss, cannot walk, and a lot of other things. Now, the doctors saw some spots in his lungs and we will get the results of that soon. I just want someone to tell me why this happens. I want to know about the neurons, the cells, the dendrites, anything you can tell me that would make me understand how all this happens. I am 19 years old, and I would like to know if this could be passed to me and if I should go see a specialist or something.

(0.7967)   I have had 6 surgeries in less than 2 years since they told me I had a meningioma. I am blind in one eye, still have severe headaches (in new places), balance issues, and my depression is getting very bad. I feel like nothing will ever be the same again and hate myself for feeling this way. How long does it take before you start feeling like a normal person again or will I have to deal with these issues for the rest of my life?

(0.7967)   What is a meningioma and can it affect behavior?

(0.7967)   My wife is approximately 12 years post-op/post-radiation for a Meningioma of the left falx. Over the last few years, her right-side leg impairment has increased, apparently due to radiation damage to the brain. Are there any treatments to combat this decline?

(0.7967)   I would like to ask a question about a Meningioma which is in an inoperable site - the Cavernous Sinus. It apparently can only be de-bulked if radiation does not slow it down or shrink it. My question is: does this mean that the prognosis is not very good? Is a 4 cm tumor in that region classified as big?

(0.7967)   Can you tell me what the best treatment is for a Meningioma tumor in the optic sheath?

(0.7742)   I have a friend who has a Meningioma. She had surgery four years ago. It started in the ear and is quite large. The only thing she has been told is that now it is too big and cannot be operated on. I have heard of some treatment in a hospital in Sheffield, England which offers a kind of laser treatment to shrink the tumour without any long lasting effects, that is, it can pinpoint onto the tumor thereby not damaging any other vital parts of the brain. Has anybody heard of such a treatment? The original surgery has left her face paralysed on one side.
